2010 Northwest Florida Modified Compact Truck Rules

1. GENERAL

1. Any compact truck, regular or extended cab, two-wheel drive pickup truck.
2. Must drive with rear wheels ONLY. 4WD trucks must have front driveshaft removed.
3. No Sport, GT, Extreme, or other high-performance truck versions are allowed

2. ENGINE


1. 100 percent stock. Absolutely no performance enhancing modifications are allowed unless specifically listed in these rules.
2. May be 4 or 6 cylinder with a maximum displacement of 4.3L. Engine/Transmission do not have to match make/model of truck however must be stock spec for engine used with the exceptions of listed allowable modifications only.
3. May use performance spark plugs, plug wires, and air filters (no cold air intakes). Only stock replacement style air filters.
4. Unnecessary parts may be removed such as A/C components and smog pumps. No part may be removed if such removal will significantly enhance performance.
5. Stock radiators may be replaced with aluminum racing radiators. Radiator must remain in stock location. No additional cooling, such as electric fans, is permitted.
6. Absolutely no turbo or super chargers of any kind.
7. Factory exhaust manifolds or underslung, street type or shorty, headers allowed. Exhaust must exit behind driver.
8. Must run on pump gas only, absolutely no race fuel or alcohol can be run or added to fuel. No octane booster may be added to fuel. If your engine is stock it will run just fine on pump gas.
9. May run factory stock fuel injection or stock 2bbl carb or Edelbrock Performer intake with a single, unaltered, Holley 4412 2-bbl carb.
10. May run maximum of 1" aluminum spacer under carb
11. Stock Ignition Only
12. Must remain in stock location, absolutly no setback allowed. Fabricated motor mounts must be installed in location of stock motor mounts.

3. TRANSMISSION


1. Manual or automatic transmission may be run. May change from Automatic to manual or manual to automatic provided the transmission/clutch/converter are factory stock. No Racing Transmissions or clutches.
2. Must have loop around driveshaft
3. Driveshafts must be painted a bright color (white, yellow, etc…) for visibility should it be dropped on the racing surface.
4. May run Turbo 350
5. Stock driveshaft only. May alter in length but it must be the stock driveshaft. Absolutly no lightweight or racing drivershafts allowed.

4. SUSPENSION / BRAKES


1. Suspension must remain factory stock with all parts in stock location.
2. May adjust camber
3. Must have functioning brakes on all 4 wheels
4. May replace stock steering column, gearbox must remain stock. No quickeners
5. May adjust rear suspension by removing leafs from springs. Must remain factory stock springs for truck make, model, year. No adjustable shackles.

5. TIRES AND WHEELS


1. Hoosier or American Racer G60-15 tires only
2. 8"steel wheels, steel racing wheels are permitted
3. May run beadlock on right rear

6. REAREND

1. Stock rearend for truck being run must be utilized. No interchanging rear ends between makes and models.
2. May change gear ratio
3. May lock rearend

7 BODY


1. Any regular, or extended cab, compact truck body and frame.
2. Factory steel bodies only
3. May Lower ride height if necessary.
4. Must cover bed with sheetmetal
5. May run maximum 6" spoiler on rear of truck
6. Bodies must be relatively clean, no rusted out bodies.
7. Badly damaged body panels may be covered with sheetmetal, within reason, providing the original part remains underneath where and when possible.
8. Hood and doors may be hulled out
9. Hood must be secured (pinned) in at least 2 places along the front of hood, 4 places (corners) if hinges are removed.
10. Bed must remain intact.
11. Doors and tailgate must be bolted and/ or welded securely in place.
12. Front and rear bumpers may be fabricated with no sharp edges and may not extend beyond body
13. Roof must remain stock height.
14. If fuel tank is outside of frame a fuel cell must be securely installed, centered (side-to-side) in the truck bed and protected in a steel case with a minimum of a single bar around the cell.
15. If installing a fuel cell may run an aftermarket electric fuel pump on fuel injected engines however pressure regulator must remain stock.
16. All burnable upholstery such as seats, carpet and headliners must be removed.
17. All glass and lights must be removed.
18. Dash may be replaced with a sheetmetal dash.
19. Aftermarket gauges may be installed.
20. Must have a minimum of 18" numbers on roof and both doors.
21. May skirt truck
22. May run aftermarket or fabricated nosepiece
23. Must have chains, or some secure method, front and back, by which truck can be easily lifted and towed
24. May "box" drivers compartment
25. Body and Frame MUST MATCH - no mixing/matching extended/regular cab bodies/frames
26. Stock fire wall must stay in stock location , but may be modified to allow for disturbutor and transmisson  bolts.
27.  Front radiator cowl must stay in stock location.
28. Bed  may not be altered in length  in any way

8. ROLL CAGE AND BRACING

1. Each truck must have a minimum of a four-point roll cage welded to the frame, no exceptions!. There must be a minimum of 3 driver side door bars, two passenger side door bars, a driver side vent bar and two bars from top rear of cage to frame ahead of rear wheels. Additional bars and bracing may be added at the driver's discretion.
2. May brace front end, engine compartment, sides and bed, but no bars may be visible outside truck.
3. All trucks must have a minimum of three vertical bars in windshield ahead of the driver.
4. Recommend to have at least a single bar vertical behind driver's head in regular cab trucks.
5. All areas of the cage that the driver may come in contact with must be covered with roll bar padding.

9. SAFETY


1. All trucks must have an approved and properly mounted racing seat in stock location, on ext cab trucks back of seat not farther than 2" behind door column or 12" from back  inside cab of truck
2. All trucks must have a window net securely fastened to the roll cage. No part of window net may attach to truck body.
3. All trucks must have a minimum 4-point racing harness.
4. All trucks will have a working fire extinguisher located in easy reach of the driver.
5. Must have emergency fuel pump cutoff switch if running an electric fuel pump.
6. May install quick disconnect steering wheel
7. Any item or aspect deemed unsafe by track officials will be disallowed.
8. Highly Recommend a rollover safety mechinisim to shut off fuel pump in the event of a rollover.

10. Weight

1. Trucks with 6 cylinder engines must weigh a minimum of 2900 pounds after race with driver
2. Trucks with 4 cylinder engines must weigh a minimum of 2700 pounds after race with driver


11 OTHER

1. May utilize aftermarket chip/ECM to include "flashing" or reprogramming chips
2. No traction control of any kind - OEM traction control (by whatever name the manufacturer called it) is not allowed.
3. VIN Number plate must be retained. May be moved from dash, but must be accessible by track officials.
4. Class sponsor decals, if any, must be displayed on truck in designated location.
5. If these rules do not specifically state you can do something, you cannot do it. If you are concerned with any changes or additions to your truck please contact speedway officials for an official ruling.
